How do we know the Catholic Church is THE ONE TRUE CHURCH? How do you FIT in this Church? What is YOUR role?

Join us for an interesting Life Night in which we will talk about the birth of the Church, how it works today, and where we all fit in it!

Who: All high school students (grade 9-12)

When: Saturday, November 5th

What time: 7:00pm Youth Mass followed by LifeNight from 8:00-10:10pm

EDGE

"WHAT'S NEW AT MASS?"

THE NEW ROMAN MISSAL!

Did you know that there will be some minor but important changes in the words we pray at Mass? Why are things changing? What is the most important part of the Mass?

Who: Grade 7 and 8 students

When: Friday, November 4th from 6:45-9:00pm
(Games begin at 6:45pm)

Where: Merciful Redeemer Parish Basement

Join us for a great night of fun and meet tons of other teens who are on fire for Christ! On this night we will learn about the changes that are taking place in the Mass, as well as the importance of the Eucharist.

Also, did you remember your 'homework'? If you did and you remember to bring it to Edge, you'll get an extra token! Hint: There is something you are supposed to ask your parents and you need to bring the answer with their signature... ;)

ATTENTION PARENTS: To help us make sign-ins easier and less crowded, if you have not yet filled a registration form for Edge, we ask that you fill it on the tables UPSTAIRS before taking your child downstairs for sign-ins.
For pick-up, please sign-out your child on the corresponding sheet and go right INSIDE the hall to pick up your child, and exit through the back door to help us keep the flow of people going. Thank you!

Come and find out at our next LifeNight, which is happening on Saturday, October 15th from 7:00-10:10pm (including the Youth Mass)! All high school students are invited (grade 9-12).

Join us for a great night of fun and meet tons of other teens who are on fire for Christ!

Also, don't forget last week's commitment: setting aside at least 5 minutes each day to pray :)

Hallowed?? The Our Father

How many times have you prayed the "Our Father" (The Lord's Prayer) in your life? Have you ever given much thought about what you are ACTUALLY saying when you pray it?

On Friday, October 14th from 6:45-9:00pm, we invite all students in grades 7 and 8 to join us for a great night of fun and meet tons of other teens who are on fire for Christ! On this night we will learn about how Jesus wants us to pray and what the words of the Lord's Prayer really mean!

Also, did you remember your 'homework'? If you did and bring it to Edge, you'll get an extra token! Hint: There is something you are supposed to show your parents and something you are supposed to find... ;)

"In the Flesh" Youth Retreat!!

 All youth 14-19 years of age are invited to our youth retreat which is organized by our LifeTeen youth ministry. It is going to be truly EPIC and there are only 50 spots available, so I encourage you all to sign up early.
Friday, October 21 - Sunday, October 23 - Merciful Redeemer Parish AND Teopoli, Gravenhurst, Ontario
- Registration fee: $100 (includes meals and transportation)

Attention all young adults!! (19-35 years old)          
                            
Is GOD CALLING YOU to serve Him by bringing the youth of today to Christ?

The Youth Ministry Office at Merciful Redeemer is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Core Team, the volunteering group that helps run our LifeTeen (high school) program.
Qualifications:
- Be at least 19 years of age (and having graduated from high school)
- Be a faithful practicing Catholic (you attend Mass every Sunday, receive the Sacraments regularly, and are faithful to the teachings, precepts and morals of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church)
- Have a positive attitude and enthusiasm
- Have a deep desire to serve God and his Church
- Police background check (we provide you with a letter so it is free)
- No previous experience required
